What kind of shrimp eat fish ick?
Unfortunately there are no shrimp that can solve this problem for you. Ick are a parasite that are often present in the water. While fish can become more susceptable to them if stressed out, stress doesn’t not cause the ick – the little bugs do. Outbreaks of ick can be a real problem here are some alternative suggestions for you. – Treat your tank with a gentle ick medication like Kordon Rid-Ick. Remember to do it once a week for 3 weeks The ick parasite is only suseptible to medications in one stage of it’s three week life cycle so this will catch them as they come into the stage and before they reproduce. – Once your tank is clean, try and quarantee any new fish for a couple of weeks to make sure they are OK. If you can’t do that consider a 1/2 dose preventative measure when adding the fish. Ick doesn’t have to be fatal, now that you know what it is watch for it and if you see white spots treat your fish right away. As another member noted keeping your tank in good shape and fish hea
