What kind of security does Ashland University provide?
Ashland has a full-time Office of Safety Services located on campus that is accessible to all students anytime. All residence halls are locked at 8:00 p.m. every night and remain locked until 8:00 a.m. the next morning. Each student is required to use their student ID that also serves as an access card to get into the building once they are locked. Safety services provides escort service 24 hours a day to students who do not wish to walk alone. Students are encouraged to permanently mark/engrave all appliances with the students name. Also, students should keep their rooms locked at all times and should see that residence hall entrances are properly secured behind them once they enter their building. Please note that propping outside doors is a violation of residence life policy.
