What kind of samples are used for testing?
DNA Services of America prefers to use a cotton-tipped swab, commonly called a “cheek swab”. It is collected by swabbing the inside cheek of the mouth. It is painless, non-invasive and the results are just as accurate as blood samples since the DNA in every nucleated cell in your body is the same. Other biological samples are acceptable, including a tube of blood or drops of blood on a bloodstain card when appropriate.
