What Kind of Safety Concerns do Women Face with Cosmetics in Malaysia?
The National Consumer Complaints Centre (NCCC), which is part of the Consumer Portal with Standards Users attends to consumer grievances / complaints. In 2007 and 2008 NCCC received more than 45,000 complaints. There were about a hundred complaints on allergic reactions to cosmetics brought to NCCC. Among them was a RM 7,000.00 facial treatment received by a complainant in the state of Kelantan. There was also a complaint where another woman retained major scars on her legs after hair removal treatment.
