What kind of research statement is necessary for a data access request? Does my project need to be closely related to the dbGaP study of interest to qualify for access?
Each study has slightly different application instructions, which you can find on each study report page. Take a look at the study report page of the GAIN Psoriasis Collaborative Association Study as an example. You will find a description of the study restrictions” in the “Use Restrictions” sub-section of the “Access to Individual-level Data” section. Also within the “Access to Individual-level Data” section, there is a text link called “Data Use Certification Requirements (DUC)”. If you click on it, you will be taken to a detailed description of the Data Use Certification Requirements for that study. Some studies have additional requirements/instructions that are required in their applications for individual-level data access. If you have study-specific questions, you may wish to contact the Data Access Committee (DAC) for that study.
