What kind of projects can be financed under the RUSEFF facility?
Two kinds of projects: Measures which improve the efficient use of energy resources (energy efficiency projects), and projects which allow using renewable energy sources for supply purposes (renewable energy projects). Energy efficiency projects improve the efficiency of converting fuel to energy carriers such as heat, power, compressed air or steam, or reduce unnecessary losses during the use of energy carriers. Technologies can be, for example, combined heat and power systems, new boilers, compressors, heat recovery or advanced chilling systems, often complemented by energy management systems. Target of an energy efficiency project in industry is using less fuel per output unit produced. Renewable energy projects are e.g. wind turbines, run-of-river hydropower plants, biomass-fired heat, power and CHP plants, solar-thermal water systems etc. (see Eligibility).
