What kind of preparations should be taken prior to a hurricane?
If a Hurricane Watch is issued, you must bring in all the items that are out on your patio. If these items are left outside, they could be blown against your windows, or the windows of your neighbors. They could become projectiles, or blow off the patio down onto vehicles below. If the items are not brought in when a Hurricane Warning has been issued, you could be assesd a fee for the on-site staff to bring those items in on your behalf. Please pay particular attention to the news, and if the barrier islands East of Federal Highway are to be evacuated, take appropriate steps to vacate your unit and head to stay with family or friends who are in an area which will provide proper storm safety. If you do head inland, please leave word with friends and family telling them where you will be located, so that they know you are safe.
