What kind of parrot should i get?
First of all, I’m very sorry to hear of your heartbreak:( I’ve been there – I feel your pain. You know it’s not the end of the world. You will no doubt find love again. But I’m not so sure that a bird is going to fill that vacancy. Parrots are smart, but they’re smart like “children”. They can be sweet, lovable and cuddly – or they can be screaming, biting machines. It’s important to understand birds, before buying one. What you do, will affect the behavior of your bird. If you don’t know how to handle it – you may wind up with a problem, instead of a pet. Having a great bond with a parrot takes time, patience, training and lots of love and understanding. It’s a big commitment and should always be a LIFETIME COMMITMENT. Small parrots like budgies and cockatiels typically live less than 20 years, but some the bigger parrots may outlive you. The life of your bird will have to be considered at all times.
