What kind of pan can handle metal silverware?
Scratched Teflon pans defeat the purpose of nonstick coating and should be thrown away. Your foods will stick and scorch in the damaged spots, and no one wants to eat Teflon. Toss them, or use them for camping and start over 😉 Whatever you do, DO NOT use unclad aluminum. It has been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease. It is okay to use metal utensils in cast iron, but you must get used to the hot handles that can burn your hands while on the stovetop. Once you get a cast iron skillet handle burn, you may have an incredible to desire to stop cooking altogether! What I would suggest is that you get yourself some serious copper-bottom REVEREWARE stainless steel pans made by PAUL REVERE (yes the real one you’re thinking of…) They have a lifetime warranty and I’m still cooking today on the Revereware pots & pans that were my grandmother’s in 1950. They are indestructible… even had a couple toddlers beating “drums” on them with wooden spoons in the middle of the kitchen floor with no damage
