What kind of number portability complaints can the TIO handle?
The TIO can handle complaints about delays in porting a number from one carrier’s network to another. The TIO can also investigate complaints if either the donor or the recipient carrier rejects a porting request. Complaints can only be raised in relation to service numbers that are required to be portable under the direction of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) and the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Currently this includes local numbers connected to simple and complex services, local rate, freephone (1800 and 13) numbers, and mobile numbers (excluding satellite services).
