What kind of nuclear weapon is most likely to be used, if ever, in the United States?
The answer to this question is largely hypothetical. The average Chinese nuclear warhead, such as found in Chinese ICBMs, will have a blast potential of up to 900kt. It is theorized that a terrorist strike by nuclear device may involve blast potentials of anywhere from 1kt to 10kt. These blast totals are merely the result of Congressional testimony and educated guesses. More likely, a terrorist group would deploy a so called “dirty bomb” than an actual thermonuclear device.
