What kind of MPEG-4 support is provided?
AVI files are used to contain the audio and video data; these must be stored on CD in the ISO 9660 format. Typically, the audio will use the MP3 or Dolby Digital format. The MPEG-4 video must conform to ISO MPEG-4 Simple or Advanced Simple profile, without 1/4 pixel (QPEL) and global motion compensation (GMC). The advantage of MPEG-4 is that up to 2 hours of content may be stored on a single CD, at higher video quality than MPEG-2 offers. Users can now easily create their own MPEG-4 video content using MPEG-4 video codec. Xvid 2.10 and Sigma’s RPM4(RealMagic MPEG4) also complies with the supported standard. Resolution up to 720×576, PAL and NTSC standards, up to 1.5Mbit/s on CD media or 3 Mbit/s on DVD media.
