What kind of mortar and pestle is best?
The best is metal, gun-metal preferrably these however are very difficult to find and I bought a wooden one and also have a marble but I did have a nice brass one which I had to leave behind in the country I used to live in as it was too heavy to bring with me and gave it to a friend to who took me to the air-port to look after for me. Sadly I have not been able to return but I do miss my pestle and mortar as it was very ofren used. My mum has a brass pestle and mortar which is about 90 years old but she will not sadly let me have it.
