What kind of mapping is available for the GPSMAP 196?
A. The GPSMAP 196 comes with either the built-in Americas or Atlantic auto-routing basemap. Additional street-level detail that provides the ability to auto-route on both the unit and PC is available from MapSource City Select. This software is available as a part of the “auto kit accessory” (P/N 010-10403-00). This kit includes an auto dash mount, a portable mount, a 64MB data card, MapSource City Select U.S. CD with full coverage, and USB Card Programmer. Other compatible MapSource products include BlueChart, Fishing Hot Spots, MetroGuide, U.S. TOPO, and Roads and Recreation U.S. These products do not provide turn-by-turn, auto-routing features.
