What kind of maintenance is required for the tee line or tee box?
There is a moderate amount of maintenance required in order to keep the tee line or tee box performing at an optimal level. It is recommended that an area which has been hit from repeatedly on a driving range tee line be “spot topdressed” before rotating back to that spot for another day of hitting balls. Spot topdressing can be performed by transferring a small amount of infill into the hitting area and then raking and smoothing the infill. The raking and smoothing can be performed with a “carpet rake” which is provided by Field Turf. Depending on the amount of use, topdressing of the entire tee line may be performed every 30 to 60 days. Tee boxes require less maintenance due to less usage but would be performed in a similar fashion. Prevention of natural turf from growing on the tee line or tee box can be accomplished by spraying the natural turf with a product such as Round Up which will not harm or affect the synthetic turf.
