What kind of maintenance does the K-20 require?
The Krieghoff K-20, like any other fine equipment must be properly maintained to ensure a lifetime of reliable and consistent service. Before assembling and shooting the gun, its critical bearing surfaces must be properly lubricated. Be sure that all bearing surfaces have sufficient grease, particularly the barrel pivots, and the adjacent flat surfaces, and the bearing surfaces between the receiver and the forearm iron. Be very careful to keep these areas free of dirt particles. Immediately after shooting and after having made absolutely certain that the K-20 is unloaded, its external metal surfaces should be wiped down and lightly oiled and the bores of the barrels should be cleaned to prevent fouling before casing or otherwise storing the gun. The action of the K-20 should also be thoroughly cleaned periodically. Finally, if the gun is used in competition, it should receive an Annual Service performed by Krieghoff International or another qualified Krieghoff gunsmith after every 15,0
