What kind of litter is safe to use for bunnies?
Wood or paper-based litters are the safest. The only exceptions are Cedar and Pine litters, which are dangerous for bunnies and should not be used. We have found the most efficient and economical product to be wood stove pellets. These are oak-based pellets produced for wood-burning stoves. they come in 40lb. bags and are approximately $5-10 per bag. They may be difficult (but not impossible) to obtain in warmer regions of the country where wood-burning stoves are far less popular.
