What kind of licensing and insurance should a non-medical homcare provider have?
Unfortunately, the State of Arizona has not established a licensing requirement for non-medical homecare companies. Some companies advertise that they are licensed, they are referring to a general business license. Blessings! For Seniors is a member in good standing with the Arizona Non-Medical Homecare Association. This organization requires it’s members to adhere to written standards of care and a strict code of business ethics. One of the benefits of using Blessings! For Seniors is that we carry workers comp and liability/bond insurance on our caregivers. If a private caregiver or a company does not have this coverage, the liability costs fall on the client or family member.
