What kind of jobs are available for under 18s who have left home and need to support themselves?
You misunderstood me. I never meant that what you were putting forth was a lie. I was just kidding you about the name. I hope that clears that up. But, as far as “making it,” I made it. I was a homeless person living on the street. I did pin setting in bowling alleys before the automated machines for 10 cents a game. And, that’s damn hard dangerouse work, especially for a teenager, which I was. I have worked my way up to the point where I was making over 100 thousand a year when the average income was something like 15 thousand. I did it through hard work and never refusing a job just because it WAS hard work. Or beneath my dignity. I have had some pretty lousy jobs. But, if one applies their self, it’s doable. That’s all. Unfortunately, today there are probably more adults trying to get the same jobs the kids are applying for. Hopefully, that will turn around soon. Hopefully.
I have had a Grandson with me since he was a baby. The time has come when he wants to leave the nest, off he goes. I thought about trying to advise him on what he should do, but didn’t. He has had many jobs since, is only just holding his head above water but, the best part is he always rings me, tells me what it is he is doing at that time. It is especially good for me, I know, if he needs help, he will come to me. No matter what situation he is in, he rings and we have a talk.
