What kind of information is required to be provided on the pay stub?
Many cities do provide their employees with a pay stub that includes listing such as itemization of their deductions, year to date earnings, accumulated vacation, compensatory time, and sick leave. In most cases, cities are not required to provide this information; however, cities are required to provide a listing of wages and deductions and how they are computed within ten working days if requested by the employee. If this information is not provided to the employee on a regular basis, the city may want to consider providing such a breakdown at the beginning of the calendar year, the fiscal year or when an employee’s wages are adjusted.
