What kind of impact does car washing have on the environment?

0

Washing your car at a professional car wash is the best way to protect the environment. When you wash your car at home in the driveway or parking lot the untreated wash water is discharged directly to the storm sewer system. These storm sewers are only meant for rain water. The soapy wash water ends up in our rivers and lakes killing fish and polluting the environment. At the professional car wash the wash water is ran through an oil separator prior to going into the city sewer system. It then goes to a waste water treatment plant.
