What kind of hold and tack properties do soft-silicone interface materials have ?
Soft-silicone as basic material is inherently tacky. Therefore soft-silicone interface materials without any treatment or lamination are naturally tacky on both sides. Depending on the type soft-silicone interface materials are naturally tacky only on one side due to either a very thin tackfree heat conductive silicone laminate or to a special treatment neutralising natural tackiness on one side. Tack-free contact surfaces are very important for automated assembly by pick and place device. A thin heat conductive silicone laminate additionally enhances mechanical stability of the compound.
