What kind of help does the RET provide?
• integration of refugees into local schools, where possible • support for refugee self-help schools • quality educational programmes • certification of the learning from the Ministry of Education in the home country • school materials such as pens, notebooks, etc. • pedagogical material such as syllabus from the home country, textbooks, diverse literature, maps, tools for experimentations, etc. • training for teachers and headmasters • innovative approaches and methods of teaching • renovation or construction of school infrastructure like classrooms, latrines, teachers’ room, resource centres, services centres, library, laboratories, dormitories, etc. • support to the school community through income-generating activities (school farm, maize mill, shops etc.) paying incentives to teachers, promoting local community participation and encouraging their empowerment towards the education of their children. • special support to girls and youth with special needs • scholarships • innovative
