What kind of gas mileage do motorcycles get?

0

Only very small motorcycles, like 250 cc and under get anywhere near 50 mpg on the highway. At least that’s my experience. My 450 Honda only got about 35-40 mpg on the highway, depending on how fast I was going, and my 1140cc Harley V-rod only gets about 33-35 mpg at 70mph average speed. If I ride at very high speeds, I’ve actually gone through 3.8 gallons in 78 miles, which is like 20mpg. So if you want a motorcycle cuz you like motorcycles, fine. If you want to save gas, make sure you really want to give up your comfort. There are cars out there that get good mileage like bikes at normal highway speeds and you don’t have to worry about getting wet, getting cold, getting hot, or not carrying everything you need. Personally, I prefer the bike no matter what the weather, except in the winter of course, but that’s me.
