Annuals must be replanted, perennials come back each spring. Your best bet is to go to a nursery and talk to someone there. Depending on where you live and the kind of soil you have will make a difference.

I recommend Daffodils, Roses and lavender. When I moved in to my house the previous owner already had them planted in the garden and they always wilt in the winter and regrow in the spring. They look pretty and they smell pretty funky to, (the good type of funky) Good luck finding the right flowers for your garden!
