I used to grow them in big tubs with no holes in the bottom, fill it with cow poo(from a paddock not a bag) and then cover the top with course gravel other wise, wrap up some organic manures(cow, chicken, sheep, horse blood n bone) in a peice of newspaper and push it into the soil around the lilly.
