What kind of fences do the deed restrictions allow?
“Picket, post and rail, and new woven wire or lattice fences” are permitted. Fences must be 5 feet or shorter and must be at least 50 feet from the front lot line; see Section 7h. Section 2a expressly forbids tight board fences. Based on the styles of fences allowed or forbidden in the deed restrictions, it appears that the restrictions were intended to allow only fences that do not block visibility. For this reason, the ACC considers shadowbox and other newer style privacy fences to fall into the same category as the tight board fences expressly prohibited in the deed restrictions. Section 2a states that fences must have approval of the Architectural Control Committee.
