What kind of expectations do teachers in the AEC have for their students?
Most teachers will expect students to follow the same basic rules: • Attend class regularly. • Complete your assignments in a timely manner. • Take responsibility for finding out about missed in-class assignments or homework from other students if you have to miss class • Be willing to work in small groups with other students during class and outside of class. • Ask your teacher when you do not understand a point or assignment. You may do this during class, before class, after class, or during the teacher’s office hours. • Raise questions and participate in class discussions rather than sitting quietly and accepting the teacher’s word on all matters. • Seek and accept assistance from a counselor/adviser when you are having problems of an academic or personal nature. • Lately I have been feeling homesick.
