All of the birthing rooms are equipped with a Jacuzzi bathtub and shower. A woman in labor can use either one. The Jacuzzi is not very deep and is not big enough for doing a birth. A waterbirth tub is available to patients who have requested this option and have registered with the nurse-midwives. The tub can accommodate the laboring woman and her partner comfortably. Cost for use of the tub is $100.00. This fee covers the cost of single use filters, special cleaning and equipment, and a mandatory waterbirth class. If I want a waterbirth, how can I arrange it? Only women registered with the nurse-midwifery practice will have a waterbirth available to them. Women who participate should read this handout, sign a consent form, pay the fee of $100.00, and understand that we will be keeping records about their labor and birth.
