I use a studio H-frame design and if you look at most artist artist that work in their studios you will find they mostly go with this design. Display easels are not good for painting and a while a field easel can be folded up and taken just about anywhere, for in home or studio use the H- design is the best way to go because it’s the sturdiest of the three and can accommidate a wider selection of canvas sizes. If space is a problem there are some good quality table top easels but is limited to certain canvas sizes. I used one of these till i could afford the easel i have now. My work can be checked out at hellosanantonio.
