What kind of dress does a girl wear to a winter formal dance?
These days, there’s no right answer to this…It all depends on your area and what the girls are doing there. I own a shop that specializes in dressy clothes, and I dress a lot of girls/women going to Army balls, charity events, proms, formals, etc…and I’m finding more girls going for short than long these days. Also, I sell just as many skimpy, spagetti strap numbers as I do any other type even in the dead of winter (and it’s COLD here). Just avoid the really lightweight fabrics, and you’re better off staying away from prints. Your best choice will be the one that flatters your figure best (great legs, go for short…great shape, go for tighter, just not sleezy skin tight)…but that please stay away from the hootchie girl dresses that I see some wearing, no matter how sexy you may think they are…stay classic/classy. If it’s quite short, show less up top…longer, show more cleavage…balance is important. Sleeveless is almost always more formal than with sleeves, and a great shaw
