What kind of drafting classes are at La Sierra HS?
There are 5 classes of drafting and all classes are year long. Drafting 1 is an introductory class. About 3 quarters are mechanical drafting and the rest is architectural. If you do well in this class, you can sign up for Drafting 2. Drafting 2 is strictly mechanical drafting. It is an in-depth study of many of the topics learned in Drafting 1 and more. It prepares the student to take college level engineering courses. If you do well in this class, you can go on to take Computer Aided Design and Drafting. CADD 1 (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) teaches students to use the computer as a drafting tool. You will learn to use AutoCAD software to do both 2 dimensional and three dimensional drafting. If you make it to this level and are a junior, you can take CADD 2. CADD 2 is an in-depth study of AutoCAD to do 3 dimensional solids modeling and rendering.
