What kind of dogs do they have for adoption at animal shelters?

Hound mix or hound would be good as they almost always love kids (well actually they love everybody – they aren’t good watchdogs, but their howl – will deter people that don’t know what you have in your house) – they are athletic, tend to be hardy, brush and go. I have 2 I adopted from the shelter – one Bluetick Coonhound I named Dale and a Redbone I named Reba. Dale was 2-3 when I adopted him (have had him for almost 3 years) and Reba was 3 (I adopted her a year ago) and both have bonded to me like glue (lol). I don’t have kids, but I take them around places, and they love attention – especially from kids. Dale loves cats (especially my vet’s office cat – gives her a smooch) but not sure about Reba. That would be one of the other reasons you may want to get a puppy – so the pup and the kitten get used to each other. Here are my dogs: Dale http://i398.photobucket.com/albums/pp61/… Reba
