Start with your current medical provider. Once they examine you, they can refer you to an orthopedic doctor/surgeon and in some cases, a chiroprator. Most doctors or specialist will NOT see new patients unless they are referred by another doctor. Also, it is important to see your "primary care physician" (PCP) first to ensure they refer your care to doctor in your PPO or HMO program, if applicable. If you fail to follow these guidelines, you may be liable for most or all medical cost incurred and subsequently denied by your insurance carrier for services billed outside their program.
