Every organization’s requirements and preferences are different. Many NGO’s (non-government organizations) prefer for you to have a graduate degree and experience before they will even consider you. Therefore, we would recommend you consider a graduate program and expanding your volunteer experience. Some NGO’s prefer you go to the Peace Corp to gain experience. Others want you to volunteer in the field for anywhere from three months to a full year before they will consider you. On the other hand, there are some that will hire you with little experience. It really just depends on the organization and what area within the organization you want to work (implementing programs in the field, customer service, accounting, translator, fundraising, etc.). We would suggest one of the following: 1. Identify what area you want to work in 2. Pursue your graduate degree 3. Volunteer for three months to one year for an NGO in the field you desire to obtain a future job 4. Consider going to the Peace
