What kind of data validation and finalization techniques does CareScience offer?

Clients have continuous access to missing or invalid data in the online Data Management Utility to update submissions. After reviewing missing and invalid data reports, users are able to resend flat files of patient records or resubmit patient records via the Web-based interface. Standard CareScience validation techniques are also applied to all other data elements. CareScience also offers two options for tracking missing data generating: 1). “investigated, but missing” reports; and 2). “not documented” reports. By separating missing data into these categories, users can prioritize whether they need to go back to the chart for data, and will be able to track documentation patterns within their institution for these specific data elements. For finalizing data submissions, CareScience sends out a reminder two weeks prior to the CareScience deadline for data transfer to JCAHO if any missing or invalid data remains.
