What kind of country is America without freedom of speech?
Shale oil mining is a problem in my area. The same government agencies that seem to be in bed with the environmentals are now suddenly supporting the oil companies. Of course, oil companies give them bigger kickbacks and have better lobbying. I am in the lumber industry. We have had about 10% of our profits diverted from us to the environmental groups, who literally do not help the environment at all. The Free Speech Zones are so ridiculous it is unbelievable. I used to be a class clown. I had a very sharp tongue and a sarcastic wit. But now everyday speech is peppered with Orwellian terms like free speech zone, and people are overwhelmed. I now speak slowly, simply, and in moderation. We must face the fact that a cultural revolution has occurred, and consensus is valued more than individualism and free speech.
