What kind of cotton is algodon?
I have a blouse with a label that says “cotton algodon.” It wrinkles terribly and no amount of ironing gets rid of the wrinkles. I want to be sure never to buy anything made from that kind of cotton again. A: If you plan to avoid algodon, I’m afraid all cotton goods will be on your do-not-buy list. That’s because algodon is Spanish for cotton. Instead, I suggest you check the brand label in your wrinkly blouse, and avoid buying cotton goods with that label. If you still have your store receipt, you could try returning the blouse, explaining how the wrinkles make it unwearable. If you have already worn, washed and tried to iron the garment, it may be too late to try returning it — but at least you will have alerted the store to the problem. If the management is smart, they will quit offering that brand.
