What kind of content does the premiere issue of World of Warcraft magazine have in store for us?
At this point I’m thinking about four tentpoles, in no particular order: The lore/storytelling aspect of the game, the tactics of top players, insight from behind the scenes at Blizzard, and the community itself. That ratio will change per issue, but one of our core ideas is NOT to tell the players what to do. We want the top players to tell us what THEY do. Most of our articles, and certainly the ones that go into raid dungeon tactics and battlegrounds strategies, will feature multiple perspectives from top player/experts. First issue will have a monster article walking you all the way through Crusader’s Coliseum, for instance, but it won’t be cut and dried; it will give you a nice wide spread of ideas from different players who know what they’re talking about. Our writers are more or less reporters, interviewing the best of the best.
