The main computer of the TSMC is a Digital VAX 6420 minicomputer. It has about 5 gigabytes of hard-disk storage, 128 megabytes of RAM, two 32-bit CPU’s, and 128 communication ports. Each communication port can communicate to 8 field cabinets.
