Pixia’s software is compression agnostic – meaning it’s software and file format are not dependent on a specific type of compression. Compression is NOT the key to Pixia’s performance advantages. Entirely uncompressed imagery may be used if you so desire. Pixia has been making use of JPEG 2000 compression – as it has gained considerable acceptance as a standard. However, other methods of compression may be used within the nui™ file format.
