What kind of businesses will be in the Energy Economic Zone?
The Energy Economic Zone will be developed to attract green, clean tech services, businesses and light industry. Heavy industrial land uses will be in restricted zoning categories, and then only by special exception. Non-residential uses in the Energy Economic Zone will be light- or assembly-based industry. The building design will be directed by a form-based code which focuses on the overall design character of a neighborhood. The mixed-use nature of the site plan will also determine the eventual uses of the Energy Economic Zone.
