What kind of base is placed under the curb?
The Incredible Edge borders will require that about 1 ½” depth of sod be removed. We make sure the base under the curb is compacted and level. We will put a thin layer of sand throughout the trench to not only better level the trench, but also to assist in drainage. This layer of sand will then be tamped to assure solid ground. In cases when the curb may settle a little, the expansion/control joints should direct any cracking to the nearest joint so the break is unnoticeable. It is proven by the past 25 years of the curbing industry history that our base preparation techniques are more than adequate to promote a strong, long lasting curb. The trench will be approximately 9 inches wide to allow for adequate machine maneuverability.
