WHAT KIND OF AREA IS REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIREWORKS DISPLAY?
For Standard Aerial Fireworks, the primary criteria for a site is adequate separation from the discharge, or launch area to the spectators. This area, known as the fallout zone, must also be relatively free from other hazards such as flammable materials or occupied buildings. The size of this area is determined by the size of the fireworks used and is normally a circle with a radius between 200 to 500 feet. The area must also be able to be secured from any public access while firing the display. If an area does not have an adequate fallout zone, a special type of pyrotechnics known as close proximity effects may be able to be utilized.
