What kind of amp was Robbie Robertson playing on during Bob Dylans 1966 “Royal Albert Hall” concer?
At around the time of the Manchester Free Trade Hall (or “Royal Albert Hall” concert) I believe he was playing a few different Fender amplifiers. Although it is hard to see the amplifier in the film reels of the concert, based on the sound I would be reasoned to believe that it was either a Vibrolux or Super Reverb amplifier, however it is hard to tell. You are quite correct in thinking that it would have been a 30-watt combo, but they wouldn’t have used a Vox, as Dylan was strictly enforcing an American sound to his music and AC30s are far too ‘British’ sounding.
