What kind of algae can be killed and how quickly ?
There exist at least twenty thousand kinds of algae, which react in various ways after their demise. The most common algae are the so-called roaming algae, which are brought into the water by wind and rain and which will be killed the most quickly – within a day or two. Others might last a couple of weeks, but will be dead in due time. Even though some algae die rather quickly, it may take up to 6 weeks before the effects are visible with the naked eye.
