What kind of advertisements need to be reviewed and pre-approved by the IRB?

0

The IRB must review any direct advertising for research subjects, or advertising that is intended to be viewed or heard by prospective subjects to solicit their participation in a study. Direct advertising can include (but is not limited to): newspaper, radio, TV, bulletin boards, contact letters, posters, and flyers that are intended for prospective subjects. Please contact the IRB if you are unsure if your advertisement requires IRB review. Please note that with the exception of the items listed in #2, all advertisements need IRB pre-approval before they can be used to recruit CMH study subjects. Pre-approval is necessary so that the IRB can confirm that the advertisements comply with all policies, are not coercive, and truthfully relay the goals and benefits of the study.
