The ultimate goal in bodybuilding is to develop lean muscle mass and burn calories that lead to the accumulation of excess body fat. Therefore, a high protein – low fat diet is recommended for bodybuilding enthusiasts. A good diet plan must consist of 40% proteins, 40% carbohydrates and 20% essential fat. The essential vitamins and minerals should also be supplied through diet. It is recommended for enthusiasts to include large portions of nutritious foods and stop taking non – nutritious food products such as junk food, processed or frozen foods. Foods like fish, eggs, milk, chicken, lean red meat, green leafy vegetables, soybeans, lentils etc. should be consumed. The intake of fresh fruit salads should be increase as this supplies the body with roughage, needed for maintaining the health of the digestive tract.
