What key is Moonlight Sonata written in?
well, first of all, the Moonlight sonata, as written for the Piano, is set in C Sharp minor. Although, you could play like it were in E major, but it just would not be the same. The Reason for it to be in that key is to give it such a brilliance to the interpretation when played in a Piano, though I like it more flatting it.
