What jurisdictions do not require a state issued electrical permit?
The state does NOT inspect in jurisdictions already having their own electrical inspection program. If you are unsure about this, after checking the chart below, then contact the city or town where the work is being performed, to see if they offer a local inspection program. They may refer you to a county run inspection program.If neither of these agencies provide an inspection service, then the State will perform the inspections. It is your responsibility to determine the correct inspection authority and failure to do so may delay the progress of your job. If a State Inspector makes a trip to the job and determines that the site is outside state jurisdiction, a trip fee might be charged.
